Start Small. Stay Real. Build Big ✨
What I Shared in My Business Ask-Me-Anything
I recently sat down for a Business Ask-Me-Anything episode on the You’re Glowing podcast, and I wanted to turn it into something you could come back to and reread on the days you need reassurance.
Because here’s the truth:
Building a business while being a mom, a partner, and a real human is messy. It’s not linear. And it rarely looks like what the internet tells you it should.
This episode wasn’t about having everything figured out. It was about answering real questions from women who are in it. If that’s you, this one’s for you.
You Don’t Need a Perfect Starting Line
One of the most common questions I get is:
“Where do I even start?”
My answer is always the same: start where you are.
You don’t need the perfect idea, the perfect brand, or the perfect schedule. You don’t need more confidence or more clarity before you begin. You’re allowed to start with the life you have right now.
Waiting until things feel “settled” usually just keeps you stuck. Momentum comes from action, not perfection.
Your Business Idea Is Probably Already There
So many women tell me they don’t have a business idea yet. And almost every time, I can see it before they can.
If people are already asking you questions…
If you’re naturally helping others solve a problem…
If there’s something you’ve learned through experience…
That’s a business seed.
Your idea doesn’t need to be flashy. It needs to be useful. Start small. Offer one thing. Let it evolve as you grow.
Posting Isn’t About Perfection, It’s About Showing Up
Another big question was about content. What to post. How often. And how to stop overthinking every caption.
Here’s what I’ve learned: posting isn’t a performance. It’s connection.
You don’t need to say everything perfectly. You just need to say something honestly. The women who resonate with you aren’t looking for polished. They’re looking for real.
Consistency matters more than creativity on most days.
Consistency Looks Different in Every Season
This one is important.
Consistency does not look the same in every phase of life. And that doesn’t mean you’re failing.
Some seasons look like daily content.
Some look like once a week.
Some look like quiet progress behind the scenes.
What matters is that you don’t quit just because the pace has changed. You’re still building, even when it feels slower.
You’re Allowed to Build Over Time
I didn’t build my business overnight. And I didn’t build it all at once.
I made decisions, learned lessons, adjusted, and kept going. That’s how sustainable businesses are built.
You don’t need the full roadmap today. You just need the next step.
Mindset Is Everything
One of the biggest shifts for me was stopping the “I’ll start when…” mindset.
I didn’t start when I felt ready. I started when I decided I was willing to learn as I went.
Fear doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It usually means you’re stretching.
Simple Systems Matter
I also shared a bit about how I keep things simple behind the scenes.
I use tools that keep everything in one place so my business supports my life instead of overwhelming it. You don’t need ten platforms. You need systems that work for you, not against you.
Final Thoughts
If you’re feeling behind, unsure, or like everyone else has it more “together” than you do, I want you to hear this clearly:
You’re not late.
You’re not doing it wrong.
And you don’t need to wait to begin.
You’re allowed to start small.
You’re allowed to build slowly.
And you’re absolutely allowed to grow into the version of yourself you’re becoming.
You’re glowing...even in the messy middle ✨
